Celeste Bickford's Bio

Celeste Bickford is a scientist with a background as an academic researcher in maternal/child health who currently works within the criminal justice system. Celeste’s interests include understanding how students’ experiences within the school system impact their health, well-being, and long-term outcomes. Evidence-based decision making is something that she advocates for. Questioning the status quo and providing alternative perspectives is an approach that she often brings to the Board table. Celeste aims to foster a system in which transparency and procedural fairness are upheld for students, employees, and the public.

 

Celeste brings more than two years of experience in local government as the Alternate Director for Area D of the Squamish-Lillooet Regional District and is now in her second term serving as a Trustee on the School District No. 48 Board of Education.
