On Friday, September 18th at 9am, Roxy, Rachel, Yvonne, and Auntie Cindy shared their gifts of song and drum to students and staff of Brackendale Elementary and Don Ross Middle School through an Indigenous Welcome. The Indigenous Welcome is a tradition to welcome students and staff back to school and to celebrate a new school year. The singing and drumming took place in the forest where the two school (BRE & DRM) properties meet and the event was broadcasted to the students and staff of Brackendale and Don Ross through Zoom.
The event was hosted by Brackendale Elementary School Principal Karen Saenger and Don Ross Middle School Principal Cory Hartling.
