International Education Department Overview
About Us:
The mission of our International Education Department is to draw students from around the world to our communities in Sea to Sky. At the same time, it will help our growing number of Canadian students achieve global competencies, skills, and networks needed to drive Canada's success and innovation and assist our schools in designing and exporting cutting-edge education services to an increasing number and diversity of international students.
Department Vision:
The SD48 International Education Program will contribute to a globally-oriented school district in order that the students, staff and community gain from the associated educational, social, cultural and economic benefits.
Key Strategies:
The Big Ideas within the Board of Education’s Pathways to Learning include having one singular goal: to create safe, purposeful, powerful learning environments so that all students can think critically, create, collaborate, contribute, and learn. Further, the Enduring Understandings, embedded within the Big Ideas for Pathways to Learning design, remind us all that inclusion is a right, diversity is a strength, and personalization is the way forward. These key elements guide our work and are represented in our department strategy outlined below:
- Support Inclusion, Personalization and Diversity (Pathways to Learning) by enhancing the Social, Cultural and Economics of International Education for our local students and our visiting students.
