2023/2024 Service Plan: Operations Department

For the 2023/24 school year, the Operations Department will be prioritizing the following areas in addition to the regular functions handled within the department:

1. Capital Planning 
• Capital Planning: continue to put forward the Howe Sound Secondary seismic upgrade and expansion project in this year’s submission
• Streamline our student projection modelling by adding “local knowledge” information to the data sets
2. Continued support for the implementation of the Accessibility Act requirements & Feeding Futures 
3. Develop/Update bus driver recruiting strategy
4. Work with schools to help manage the student transportation systems to optimize the use of available seating on buses
5. Emergency Preparedness: Delivery of the emergency response flipcharts to all schools
